Every year we have the pleasure of inviting people around Australia to join a very special kind of walk; Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk.
Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk encourages people of all ages and all fitness levels to head out into nature and get the kilometres in to raise money to protect the places and wildlife we love.
Everyone can get involved, from hiking enthusiasts to beach wanderers, parents with prams, dog walkers and more. This year, our incredible bushwalkers clocked up a staggering 66,000km and raised $364,000 for nature and counting!
Every person who joined the challenge made a meaningful impact for nature. We’d like to give special recognition to a few outstanding fundraising efforts.
Our top Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk fundraisers
Our top fundraiser Deborah walked 155km and raised over $9,000! Fundraising takes time and effort, and we are blown away by Deborah’s dedication.
We asked her what inspired her to join Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk.
“I love hiking, and I love our wildlife, so it was a no brainer to join so that I could help raise some funds for their conservation,” Deborah said, “I am a vet, and when I was at university had grand ideas about working in wildlife medicine and conservation. Unfortunately, life has not moved in that trajectory, but I still want to do things that help out our creatures and their habitat.”

Finally, we want to thank our epic partners Paddy Pallin and Vamos bikes for their generous support.
Paddy Pallin have been long-term supporters of ACF and have backed Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk since its inception. Now in its third year, they came on board as a major partner, generously donating fantastic prizes, providing financial support and taking part in the challenge themselves.
CEO Tim Pallin shared the team’s inspiration for supporting the campaign.

Vamos Bikes have also been supporting ACF for several years and made an incredible contribution to this year’s challenge, donating a $5,000 e-bike as one of the major prizes for Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk.
Lucky bushwalker Nysha was the recipient of the Vamos e-bike.
“I feel like nature protection and clean renewable energy should be something everyone is supporting and it’s one of the main reasons I signed up to Australia’s Biggest Bushwalk,” Nysha shared.
Based in the southern highlands, Nysha had plenty of beautiful places she could go to clock up her steps, and now plenty of places she can ride her new e-bike!
